Description

The Cottage, Garden Cottage, and Mill End Cottage form a group of three cottages built in the 18th and early 19th centuries, with later alterations. They are constructed of red brick on a sandstone plinth and feature a plain tile roof with shaped kneelers. The cottages have a roughly L-shaped plan, with The Cottage and Garden Cottage from the 18th century aligned north-west to south-east, while Mill End Cottage, built in the 19th century, is located to the west and aligned north-east to south-west.

On the north-east front, The Cottage and Garden Cottage are one storey with an attic, featuring a floor band and a central brick stack. There are two windows with casements that have segmental heads, along with two small attic lights positioned to the centre and right of centre.

The south-east front shows Mill End Cottage set back to the left, with the gable end of The Cottage visible to the right. The Cottage has one storey and an attic, with drip bands; it includes casements with segmental heads on the ground floor to the right and an attic window at the centre. There is also a door with a segmental head and a rustic porch to the left.

Mill End Cottage is two storeys high with an eaves band, featuring two windows with glazing bar casements that have cast iron frames. It has a central door with a rustic porch and a plastered external end stack to the left.
