Description
Whitehouse Pharmacy is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations and additions. The building is made of painted brick and features a plain tile roof with brick stacks at the ends. It stands three storeys high and includes a band at the first floor and a dripstone band above the first-floor windows. The upper storeys were added in the late 19th century. The facade has three windows with plate glass sashes; the windows on the second floor have straight heads while those on the first floor have segmental heads. The central entrance is a glazed door flanked by recessed bow windows. Whitehouse Pharmacy was originally part of a single architectural design with the adjoining premises of Ashe and Nephew, which is located to the right. This connection adds to its group value.
