Description
Two Steps is a house that likely dates back to the 16th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and repairs, topped by a plain tile roof and a brick external end stack. The building has a two-cell plan and stands two storeys high, with two windows that have casements; the ground floor windows are fitted with boarded shutters. There is a central boarded door. The framing consists mainly of small square panels, with a short straight brace located above the door. To the right, there is a low brick extension that is one storey and has an attic; it includes a boarded door on the right and a small casement window on the ground floor to the left, along with a gabled dormer. The left gable features framing with closely spaced studs. This building was formerly known as the Blacksmith's Arms inn.
