Description
The White Hart is a house that has been converted into an inn, dating from the early 17th century. It underwent restoration and significant facade rebuilding in the early 20th century. The building features a timber frame and plain tile roofs, with two storeys and an attic. The first floor and attic are jettied, supported by ovolo-moulded bresummers.
The facade consists of three gabled bays, with slightly bowed mullioned and transomed windows on both the ground and first floors. The first-floor windows are adorned with shaped brackets, while the attic features five-light mullioned windows. There is a door to the left of the center with an ogee head and a rectangular overlight, and a large carriage opening to the right.
The framing includes closely spaced studs on the ground floor with brick nogging, closely spaced studs on the first floor with herringbone pattern bracing, and decorative quadrant bracing in the attic storey. The left-hand gable has a queen strut roof truss.
