Description
The presbytery, located approximately 50 yards northwest of the Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary, was built in the mid-19th century by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a clay tile roof with brick stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade with two sets of windows on the left and one set on the right. It includes a projecting gabled wing to the right and has 2, 3, and 4 light mullioned windows that contain glazing bar casements. A central porch with a lean-to roof features a 2 light mullioned window with cambered heads. This presbytery is part of a group of buildings associated with the Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary and was designed by Pugin.
