Description

The lychgate and churchyard wall located to the east and south of the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary date from the early to mid 19th century and are likely designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. The structure features squared coursed sandstone walls topped with shaped stone coping. The lychgate has a hipped felted roof supported by chamfered and stopped ashlar piers, and it is adorned with cast iron gates.
