Description
Dawscroft House is an early 19th-century house located on Bargate Street in Brewood. It is constructed of red brick and features hipped slate roofs with brick stacks. The main part of the house, situated to the left, has two storeys and an asymmetrical arrangement of windows. There are two windows on the ground floor to the left and two on the first floor to the right, all of which are glazing bar sashes with shaped lintels. The ground floor includes an angled bay on the right with plate glass sashes and an Ionic entablature. The central entrance features a double-leaved, four-panelled door surrounded by an Ionic surround with engaged columns and a full entablature, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with a decorative key block. To the right, there is an extension that has two storeys and an attic, with two windows: a glazing bar sash on the ground floor to the right and side-hung casements on the first floor and in the gabled attic dormers. The left side of the extension has large double-leaved garage doors.
