Description

The John Matthews Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 10 yards west of the west tower of St. Chad's Church in Pattingham. It commemorates John Matthews, who died in 1814. The tomb is constructed of ashlar stone and features long sides with a large central panel adorned with fluted fans at the corners, flanked by two slim outer panels. It has a moulded base and cornice.
