Description
The Vicarage is a vicarage built in the early to mid 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped clay tile roof with brick stacks at the rear. The building has three storeys, framed by corner pilasters and a moulded eaves cornice, and includes five windows with glazing bar sashes that have gauged heads and raised plaster key blocks. To the right, there is a low 19th-century service wing that is two storeys high and has two windows, also with glazing bar sashes; the first-floor windows have shaped plaster lintels, while the ground-floor windows feature raised plaster key blocks.
Inside, the vicarage boasts an early to mid 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, several 18th-century panelled doors, and panelled architraves to round-headed arches, all with raised plaster key blocks. The front room on the ground floor has a fireplace surround with an enriched frieze and cornice. Originally, the main entrance was located in the centre of the front of the house but has been replaced by a window; the current entrance is situated in the south gable. A datestone from 1720 can be found in the front garden, separate from the house.
