Description

This is a milepost, likely dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is made of cast iron, featuring a black painted base and raised lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top is inscribed with "MADELEY," while the left side displays "ONNELEY 1½ / WOORE 2¾," and the right side shows "MADELEY ½ / KEELE 3 / NEWCASTLE 6."
