Description

Ye Olde House and Bridge Cottage is a house that has been divided into two parts. Ye Olde House has origins dating back to the 16th century and was extensively remodeled around 1700, with many later additions and alterations. The building features plum brick, primarily in a garden wall bond, and part of the rear has a 16th-century close-studded timber frame below the eaves. It has a plain tile roof and an external lateral stack made of sandstone and brick. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and it has bands at floor level. The front has two bays with mid-19th century casements that have two lights and cambered heads. There is also a range in the east gable end with an entrance beneath a gabled porch, which is dated 1975. Bridge Cottage is a lower, rendered, two-storey former 18th-century rear wing that has modern additions, forming an 'L'-shaped plan. The interior has not been inspected.
