Description
The former Non-conformist chapel, now a house, dates from around 1840 and features later additions and alterations. It is constructed of brown brick with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof with coped verges on stone kneelers. The building has two levels, with a fixed-light window in a stone surround to the left and a roughly central doorway on the first floor that has a cambered arch. This doorway is accessed by late 20th-century lateral steps with a wooden handrail. A late 20th-century garage door has been inserted into the ground floor of the right-hand gable end, with a 2-light casement window above it. At the rear, there is an original round-headed doorway with a raised keystone, an oculus above, and a subsidiary entrance to the left. The chapel appears to be slightly later than the adjacent No. 32, as the coping of its left-hand gable end overlaps that of No. 32. It forms a picturesque group with the other buildings at Tyrley Wharf.
