This 19th-century milepost is located 50 meters south of The Hand and Trumpet Public House in Betley. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape with a chamfered top. The milepost is inscribed with the distances to various locations: "BETLEY 1 mile, BASFORD 4 miles, NANTWICH 8 1/2 miles, NEWCASTLE 7 miles, KEELE 4 miles."
