Description

Ravenshall Farmhouse is likely from the 15th century, but was substantially rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. It has a timber frame at its core, built using cruck construction techniques, with outer walls reconstructed in red brick and a plain tile roof. A brick chimney is built into the structure. The farmhouse is arranged in a T-shape, with a main hall range running parallel to the road and a crosswing extending south. It is two storeys high and has a three-window front with casement windows featuring segmental heads. A gabled crosswing projects to the right, and a gabled porch sits in the angle between the hall range and crosswing. A rendered extension is attached to the left. The interior has been largely modernised, but the hall range retains two substantial cruck trusses.
