Description

This is a milepost located on Tamworth Road in Elford, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face is inscribed with "ELFORD PARISH". The left-hand face indicates the distance to Tamworth as "3" miles, while the right-hand face shows distances to Alrewas as "5½" miles and Burton as "12½" miles.
