Description

Hunt's Lock is a canal lock built around the 1770s. It is constructed of red brick with stone edging, and features stone steps on the front to the north-east. The wooden gates were added around 1980. Hunt's Lock is part of a series of five locks on the Trent and Mersey Canal at its junction with the Coventry Canal. The Trent and Mersey Canal was completed in 1777, with James Brindley serving as the surveyor-general.
