Description
Milepost outside Park View, dating from the 19th century, is a hollow cast iron triangular structure with a sloping top. It is painted white with raised black lettering and has a black painted base. The inscription on the milepost reads: on the left side, "BRAMSHALL 3 ¾ UTTOXETER 6"; on the right side, "MILWICH 2 ¼ STONE 7 ¼"; and on the top, "FRADSWELL PARISH." This milepost is notable for its well-preserved condition in its original location and is part of a group of listed mileposts that mark routes in East Staffordshire. These mileposts highlight the increasing significance of road transport for people and goods in the 19th century, making this example worthy of listing.
