Description
Friary Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge with late 20th-century extensions, located in Blithfield Park. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a cruciform slate roof with coped verges. It has a single cell square plan, gabled on all four sides, and is designed in a Gothic style. The lodge is one storey high and includes a five-light window with trefoil arched lights under a square head, accompanied by a returned hood mould. Above the window, there are three heraldic shields on the gable. To the right, there are two panelled piers that flank a cast iron fence. The east front showcases a central six-traceried panel door with a moulded surround and hood mould, along with a heraldic shield above. Friary Lodge pairs with Bagot Lodge and is positioned alongside one side of the main drive to Blithfield Hall.
