Description

Bagot Lodge, dating to the early 19th century with 20th-century extensions, stands as a Gothic-style lodge. It is located within Blithfield Park, near Blithfield, Staffordshire. The lodge is constructed of ashlar with a cruciform slate roof featuring coped verges. The original design is based on a single-cell square plan with gables on all four sides. The front features a central six-panel door with a moulded surround and hood mould, with a heraldic shield positioned above. Above the door is a five-light window with trefoil arched lights under a square head and returned hood mould; three heraldic shields are displayed on the gable. To the left of the entrance are two panelled piers that flank cast iron railings. Extensions in a matching style have been added to the right and rear of the building. Bagot Lodge is part of a pair, relating to Friary Lodge, and flanks one side of the main drive leading to Blithfield Hall.
