Lodge. Dated 1794, with C20 additions. Ashlar gritstone with advanced chamfered quoins, rising from a shallow plain plinth. Moulded eaves cornice and projecting eaves beneath a pyramidal roof slated in diminishing courses, with lead hip ridges, and a central ashlar chimney cap. Square on plan, and with a symmetrical main elevation. South-west elevation with central doorway flanked by stacked glazing bar sash windows. Doorway has an architrave surround, a fluted frieze incorporating an oval plaque with an inscription 'H H 1794'. Plain C19 4-panelled door. Flanking windows with architrave surrounds and keyblocks, the ground-floor sashes 4 x 3 panes, the first floor sashes 3 x 3 panes. The central opening above the doorway is blind. The rear elevation has 4 sash windows in plainer surrounds, but with moulded heads and keyblocks. One of a pair of cottages flanking the entrance gateway to the Wingerworth Hall estate. The attached C20 additions to the lodge are not included in this or any other list.
