Description
The School House, built in the early 19th century, is a house with an L-shaped plan. It features ashlar stonework, a hipped slate roof, and integral ashlar end stacks. The building has two storeys and includes three two-light windows with decorative glazing bars, raised surrounds, and central chamfered mullions. The central window is a single light, and there is a central boarded door with an oblong overlight, all set within a raised surround. The School House occupies a key position at the west end of the village, set back behind a rounded front boundary wall that is about 5 feet high. There is a small cast iron gate, aligned with the doorway, featuring lattice work on the lower rail.
