Description

Boldershaw Farmhouse, dated S 1 IW (likely referring to 1756), is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It was built in the 18th century and has undergone later alterations and additions. The construction is of coursed and squared large stone blocks, with a clay tile roof and rock-faced integral end stacks. The building is two storeys high, comprising a three-bay main house to the right and a two-bay extension to the left. The main house features three-light chamfered mullioned windows on the ground floor, with a central two-light chamfered mullioned window on the first floor, flanked by two hipped casement dormers at a slightly higher level. A central gabled porch with a glazed door is present. The extension has casement windows, two to the ground floor and one to the first floor on the right side.
