Description
The School House and School, dated 1858, is a small building made of squared stone with ashlar dressings and a stone tiled roof. The School House features coped gables and end wall stacks, and is two storeys high with a three-window range of mullion windows that have hoodmoulds. The central window is a single light, with two-light windows flanking it. There is a central door with a hood supported by brackets. The facade is framed with raised ashlar strips on the sides, a plinth, a floor band, and eaves. The south end wall has similar two-light and three-light windows, along with a date plaque. The school is located at the rear, featuring a coped east gable and a rear wall stack. The south front includes a projecting gabled stone porch with ashlar side piers, a segmental-pointed arch with a hoodmould, and double doors with an overlight. To the right are two three-light mullion windows, both with original lattice glazing and hoodmoulds. There is also a later slate-roofed parallel range added to the rear.
