Description

Woodford Hall Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone later alterations. It is constructed of red brick with vitrified headers and ashlar dressings, topped with a plain tile roof featuring coped verges and a ball finial. The building has a double-pile plan and stands three storeys high with an attic.

The facade includes two gabled bays with 19th-century casement windows that have segmental heads. The ground and first-floor windows are adorned with continuous hood moulds, while the second-floor windows have straight hood moulds. The attic windows feature dentilled bands above, and there is an oval oculus on the first floor to the right. Blocked original windows can be found on the ground floor to the left of centre and on the first floor to the right of centre, both with flat brick arches. The central entrance consists of a five-panelled door with an overlight and a segmental arch.

To the right of the main house is a low attached service wing, which is one storey and an attic high, comprising two bays with casement windows. A brick band runs over the first-floor windows, and there are gabled dormers. The central door of the service wing has a segmental head and is approached by a short flight of stone steps.

Inside, the farmhouse features a notable three-storey dog-leg staircase with barley-sugar twist balusters and faceted newel finials.
