7/199 Woodford Hall Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse. Late C17 with later alterations. Red brick with vitrified headers and ashlar dressings; plain tile roof with coped verges and ball finial; brick integral end stack. Double-pile plan. 3 storeys and attic; 2 gabled bays, C19 casements with segmental heads, ground and first-floor windows have continuous hood moulds, second-floor windows have straight hood moulds, attic windows have dentilled bands over, oval oculus to first floor right, blocked original windows to ground floor left of centre and first floor right of centre both with flat brick arches; central 5-panelled door with overlight and segmental arch. Low attached service wing to right of one storey and attic; 2 bays, casements, brick band over first floor windows, gabled dormers; central door with segmental head approached by short flight of stone steps. Interior: Good 3-storey dog-leg staircase with barley-sugar twist balusters and faceted newel finials.
