Description
Field House is a house built in the late 18th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of red brick and features hipped plain tile roofs and brick ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and is designed with a moulded brick cornice above a coped parapet that ramps down on each side of a recessed centre. The façade consists of 1:2:2 bays, with the two central bays flanked by slightly projecting wings. It has glazing bar sashes and 4-pane sashes; the windows in the centre and right have blind boxes, and there are blind panels on the parapets of the centre and right-hand wing. The left-hand bay is bowed and features French casements along with a first-floor sill band. The recessed centre includes a three-bay lean-to shelter and a single-storey 19th-century porch to the right, which has a round-headed plate glass sash. The interior has not been inspected.
