Description
A farmhouse dating to the mid-18th century, situated on the north side of High Street in Marchington. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, featuring coped verges, shaped kneelers, and brick integral end stacks. It is a three-storey building, with the proportions of the second floor reduced, and has a dentilled eaves course. There are three windows, containing casements with brick wedge lintels. A stone staircase of two steps leads up to the central entrance, which is flanked by fluted pilasters, a fluted frieze, and a cornice hood. The fanlight above the door has radiating glazing bars. To the south-east and partially along the south-west side of the house is a brick wall that encloses the forecourt; it is punctuated by wrought iron gate and railings. The principal gate standards are capped with urns and strengthened with stanchions.
