Description
The barn and stables, located to the west of Mill House, date from the late 17th century to early 18th century. This three-bay structure features red brick gable ends with ventilation holes and a brick plinth, while the front and rear are made of boarded timber-frame. The center bay has large double cart doors, and the building is topped with a tiled roof that has gabled ends. Inside, there are tiebeams supported by jowled posts, along with queen-posts and collars. At the south end, there is a 19th-century brick extension that includes external stairs leading to a loft door. The adjoining stable building to the northeast is approximately contemporary, with a ground floor made of brick and modern garage doors, while the upper section features a boarded timber frame with a loft door. The timber framing is exposed in the gable end, with brick infill panels, and it also has a tiled roof.
