Description

The house at Mill House dates to the 17th century and is a timber-framed building which was later encased in red brick around the early 19th century. It has a tiled roof with gabled ends and a decorative dentil eaves course. The two-storey front has a three-window arrangement. Modern casement windows are set within segmental arched openings. A large modern French window is on the right-hand side. A doorway is located to the left of centre, featuring a fielded panel door within a moulded doorcase and a porch with Tuscan columns and a heavy entablature, now glazed. Brick ridge and end stacks are present. Inside, the house retains stopped chamfer ceiling beams with run-out stops and a large open fireplace containing a 19th-century cast iron range.
