Description

No. 1 Brook Street is an office building, originally a dwelling, dating to circa 1870. Constructed of brick with stone dressings and a plain tiled roof, it is situated on the corner of Brook Street and Glebe Street. The building is designed in the Tudor Gothic style, exhibiting an angled bay that spans the corner. This bay features a doorway with a four-centred arch, decorated with foliate spandrels and a hood mould above. An oriel bay window is positioned above the doorway. Two gabled bays face Brook Street, featuring mullioned and transomed windows with four and two lights, some of which have been replaced. These windows are topped by flat hood moulds supported by corbels.
