Description
The ruins of an earlier church are located in St Peter's Churchyard in Stoke on Trent. These ruins were re-assembled by Charles Lynam around 1881. The structure features two moulded stone arches with polygonal responds and a cylindrical central shaft. There is a flying buttress to the west that has been infilled with brick and topped with tiled coping. Further east, there are remains of another shaft and stone footings that mark the site of the altar. The original church was demolished, and the stones were later rediscovered by Charles Lynam, who re-erected them on their approximate original site.
