Toll house, now house. Early C19, altered mid-C19 and extended late C20. Limestone rubble, regularly coursed and dressed to front, uncoursed to sides; graded slate roof with wide spreading eaves to splayed centre section. Original toll house comprising slightly projecting canted bay to centre with lower one-bay ranges to left and right, latter given upper floor in mid-C19. 2 storeys. C19 casements, one to each lower range with another to added floor to right range. Centre section has C19 casement to each side of C20 door with glazed panel under C20 gabled porch and one above to centre. Integral yellow brick end stack to right. C20 two-storey red brick addition to rear is not of special architectural interest.
