Description

Lloyds Bank is an 1889 bank building constructed of ashlar and brick, with a plain tile roof and stone and brick end stacks. The building is in a Renaissance style and has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window front. The upper floor features four plain sash windows with stone transoms, and a stone oriel window which slightly projects forward. The oriel window has stained or painted glass in its upper lights. Above this is an ornamental stone coped gable with a small cusped window, flanked by brick parapets with stone coping and ornamental stone ogee-topped pinnacles. The ground floor is divided by buttresses and includes two arched doorways with basket-arched lights above, along with two-light mullion and transom windows with matching basket-arched lights to the centre and right. The building is included on the list for its group value.
