Description

Darrell Cottage and Owls Cottage are three houses, originally built in the late 17th century and altered in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick and painted brick, with stone rubble gable ends. They have plain-tile roofs with dentil course eaves and verges, along with integral brick gable-end and ridge stacks. The range is rectangular and runs parallel to the road, featuring a central gabled projection and rear extension wings.

The east front is symmetrical, with a projecting gable featuring two large casements in brick, segmental arched openings above a 19th-century shop front containing a central partly glazed panelled door. Flanking the shop front are panelled entrance doors, each flanked by three-light, segmental-headed casements. Two further three-light casements are located on the first floor. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
