Description
Manor Cottage is a 17th-century house that was restored in the 20th century, located in Little Stretton, Church Stretton. The cottage features painted timber framing with rendered and unpainted brick infill panels set on a rubble plinth, along with 20th-century brick. It has a thatched roof and a projecting end stack made of rubble stone and brick. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of two framed bays with the gable end facing the street.
The exterior is single storey with an attic. The south front showcases square-panelled timber framing at the attic level, which is underbuilt with brick. To the left, there is a boarded front door with a thatched canopy, and to the right, two 2-light casements with segmental-arched heads. The west gable end features a gable truss with a straight tie beam and collar, supported by twin raking struts, along with two 20th-century casements on both storeys. The rear of the cottage has square framing that is three panels high, with a single straight tension brace to the right and a single 20th-century casement. The interior has not been inspected.
