Description
This barn, located approximately 50 metres to the north-west of Wood Farmhouse, dates from around 1800, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. The gable has a crowstepped parapet with slightly corbelled brick copings, and there are three tiers of cruciform breathers.
On the south front, there is a central segmental-headed boarded loft door, likely from the mid-20th century, with an inserted boarded loft door to the left. Additionally, there are three inserted two-light wooden casements from the 20th century. To the right, just off-centre, are a pair of large segmental-headed doors and a segmental-headed boarded stable-type door. The gable end includes both cruciform and lozenge-shaped breathers. At the rear, there is a range of cow houses. Inside, the barn features an inserted first floor and king post trusses. This building is included for its group value.
