Description
This sundial, located approximately 40 metres to the south-west of Loton Park, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of red sandstone ashlar and features a stepped square base, a circular shaft, and a square top. The sides of the sundial are inscribed with the words "DOST/THOU/MARK/TIME". The square copper dial plate is inscribed with "Richd Wood/SALOP/1737". The gnomon is probably from the 20th century, and the 18th-century dial plate may have been reused from an earlier sundial.
