Description

The sundial, located approximately 6 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of All Saints, dates from the mid-to-late 18th century. It is made of grey sandstone ashlar, with some repairs done in 20th-century cement. The sundial features a tapered square-section baluster with a circular neck and pedestal, resting on a square base that sits on a circular step, topped with a square surface. It has a copper dial and gnomon, with the dial inscribed with the words: "Richd. Harper / SALOP" and "Watch and Pray Time hastens away."
