Description
This is a barn located approximately 25 metres to the north-east of Little Hobarris Farmhouse. It dates from the 17th century and has a later addition. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a high coursed limestone rubble plinth, topped with a corrugated-iron roof. It consists of four framed bays that are aligned in a north-east to south-west direction, with the site sloping to the north-east.
On the north-west front, there are four pitching openings, a boarded door to the right, and a boarded cowhouse door in the plinth to the left. Inside, the barn has tie-beam trusses with raking queen struts, and the third truss from the south-west has curved principals. The bay divisions include high plinths, sole plates, and long tension braces.
