Description

This is a barn located approximately 25 meters west of numbers 3 and 6 in Hopesay, dating from the late 17th century with later alterations. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame and a corrugated iron roof. There are wide opposing double doors in the second bay from the south-west. The interior framing was largely obscured by hay during the last survey in September 1986, but it is reported to have woven infill in several panels. The roof is a double-purlin design spanning four bays, with a mixture of raking struts connecting tie beams to principal rafters, as well as collar and tie beam trusses. This barn is included for its group value.
