Description
The cowhouse and barn, located approximately 30 yards north of Abcott House, date from the early 18th century. They feature weatherboarded timber framing with some brick repairs and have a corrugated iron roof. The structure has an L-shaped plan.
The lofted cowhouse is aligned east-west, with an attached three-bay barn to the south-west, which is aligned north-south. On the north front, there are two boarded doors and a small window on the left side at ground level, along with four loft openings.
Inside, the roof trusses include raking struts that extend from the tie beam to the principals. There are two tiers of wall panels: the lower panels are tall and rectangular, while the upper panels are square, supported by long straight tension braces. This building is included for its group value. Abcott House itself is not part of this listing.
