Description

This is a milestone located in Shelve, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of limestone and retains some traces of paint. The milestone has a rectangular section with a curved top. The inscription is very faint and partly illegible but seems to read: ‘SALOP / 15½ / B. CASTLE / 63 / 4’.
