Description
The remains of an engine house, dating from the late 19th century, are located in Shelve, Shropshire. The structure is built from roughly coursed limestone rubble with red brick dressings at the corners and around the window openings. It has a rectangular plan and consists of three levels, with the remnants of a round-headed opening on the southeast side. This engine house is associated with the former local lead mining industry and serves as a notable feature in the surrounding landscape.
