Description
This is a farmhouse, dating to the 17th century, with substantial alterations made in the late 18th century and later additions and changes. It is timber framed with painted brick infill, and has a machine tile roof. The original layout appears to have been a baffle-entry plan, likely composed of five framed bays. The house is two storeys high. The front exhibits small square framing panels, with three panels from the cill to the original wall plate, featuring long straight tension braces, and a single square panel above. Part of the ground floor has been rebuilt using brick and stone. The left gable end displays the original principal rafters. The windows are irregularly placed, featuring late 19th and 20th-century casements. These are often set within the original framing, with three grouped to the left, two pairs grouped to the left and right of the centre, and a single casement on the right, all directly below the eaves. The ground floor windows consist of three casements to the left and two to the right. A 20th-century nail-studded door is located to the right of the centre, with a red brick ridge stack immediately to the left. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
