Description
This barn, located approximately 25 metres to the north-west of Upper Panpwnton Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or 18th century, with a mid-to-late 19th century addition. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a coursed limestone rubble plinth, which has been partly rebuilt in 20th century concrete block. The barn has a slate roof and consists of three framed bays, with the bay to the north-east added later.
On the south-east front, there is a small central pitching opening, a boarded door to the left, and a waggon entrance to the right. The left-hand gable end has a boarded pitching door, while the rear of the barn features large double waggon doors. Inside, the structure includes collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts above, and the north-east truss has inclined struts only, along with framed bay divisions.
