Description
This is a farmbuilding located approximately 15 metres north of Lake House, dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from a mix of coursed limestone and sandstone rubble, topped with a slate roof, and has a T-plan layout. The building is one storey with an attic, featuring two gabled eaves-dormers; the left dormer has a two-light casement window, while the right dormer has a sealed 20th-century window. There are three ground floor two-light wooden casements and a pair of boarded doors on either side. A late 19th-century post box is set into the wall, located off-centre to the left, and the left corner has been partly rebuilt with 20th-century concrete block. The right gable end includes tallet steps leading up to a boarded loft door. Inside, the rear wing was formerly used as a malt-house. The building is importantly situated at the centre of a closely nucleated hamlet.
