Description
No. 17 St John's Hill is a house that dates largely from the early 17th century. It forms part of a larger hall and cross wing plan house, sharing this design with No. 16. The exterior features stucco over brick or possibly timber-framing, topped with a plain tiled roof. The house is two stories high and has a four-window range. It consists of a main range and a cross wing, with a doorway located at the angle of the two sections. The door is framed by a lugged architrave with a cornice above it. There are four-pane sash windows, with two located in the main range and two beneath the gable of the cross wing. The building also has parapet eaves, barge-boards, and a finial on the gable.
