Description
This small barn, located approximately 20 metres southeast of Mayfield House, dates back to around 1600 and has been altered in the 18th or 19th century. It is timber framed with red brick noggings and weatherboarded gables, while one wall has been rebuilt in red brick. The roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn features large rectangular panels framed with short angle braces and consists of two framed bays. On the northwest side, there is a slatted window and two boarded doors. Inside, the structure includes collar and tie beam end trusses with queen struts, a central collar and tie beam truss with raking struts, and single purlins with wind braces. Mayfield House itself is not included in this listing.
