Description
Clive Cottages are a row of cottages built in the mid-19th century, made from stone rubble with a plain tile roof and featuring four brick ridge stacks with dentilled caps. The cottages form a six-unit terrace plan and are single-storey with an attic. There are three entrances, each with plank doors and lights beneath stone gabled porches. The central porch is flanked by two mullion and transom windows that have cast-iron lattice casements and upper leaded horizontal casements. There is a projecting bay consisting of two units, while the paired units on either side each have one three-light mullion window and one three-light mullion and transom window. All windows are topped with simple wooden hoods and consoles. Above, there are nine gable dormers with two-light cast-iron lattice casements set under brick gables. A stone plaque above the central porch reads: "CLIVE COTTAGES Founded in memory of The Hon. RH Clive."
