Description

Fives Court, located to the northwest of Bowling Green House in Bromfield, is a structure that dates back to the 17th or 18th century. It was formerly known as the Ludlow Arms Inn and includes a fives or racquets court. The building features a brick facade over a rubble wall, with the rear rendered. There are rubble wing walls and rear buttresses, topped with stone coping that includes urn finials, although one of these finials has fallen. The court itself remains largely intact, with banks on the south and east sides.
