5/68 Wood memorial approximately - 7.5m south of nave of Church of St Mary and St Andrew

GV II

Pedestal tomb. Circa 1770. Sandstone. Hexagonal section with moulded plinth and capping; around the top are 6 carvings of sheep's skulls linked by draped leaf garlands with flowing ribbons attached. Painted inscription panels on 5 sides, commemorating various members of the Wood family, the earliest to Samuel Wood (died 1769), althouth the lettering is probably later.
